But there are some Call Of Duty-style door-kicking moments that switch to slow-mo so you can blast at folk’s heads with bullet-time accuracy. It’s interesting, at best, but ultimately pointless giving little in the way of breathing space. It’s a standard FPS affair – shoot this, shoot that – with a concentration gauge that fills up after killing a certain amount of faceless gang members and can be activated to slow down time a bit and kill more faceless gang members. There’s little innovation here, but while previous CoJ games have had interesting enough stories and characters to fall back on, this one’s trio of, apparently, disparate dirty coppers are all straight out of a shitty film script.

So, what really goes wrong here? Frankly, putting Call Of Juarez’s, at best, clunky controls and bland FPS action in a Grand Theft Auto/Saints Row style city makes for a dull and uninspired experience full of nauseating cliché after cliché lacking in real personality. But, it’d take a hardened gamer to trundle back through the game as another character just to see how each plot-line pans out. These low key tasks you’ll have to fulfil mid-mission without alerting any of your buddies add a much needed second level to the instantly forgettable story, and it’s likely you’ll pay more attention to these side tales than the main plot itself. And that’s just the AI! CoJ can be played as a multiplayer co-op, where the two other roles can be taken over by humans who will, no doubt, double up on the insults, adding a bland and unnecessary dimension to a, sadly, malnourished game.įortunately, each of the characters has their own secret agenda which can be investigated throughout the story to advance in experience and unlock weapons. Telling the separate (and entwined) stories of three law enforcement agents, you choose one to play throughout the FPS in the mean streets of LA in order to bust open a Mexican drugs cartel, while the other two follow you around not really helping other than to yell the same repetitive insults at you.

CoJ has never been the most technically extraordinary of franchises, but it’s a solid series – you know what you’re getting. Stripping it of the forgiveable quirks of the previous instalments, CoJ has now become Grand Theft Yawno. Now it's too late to ask ubisoft to fix your problem or maybe you'll have luck to be ignored.Shifting the action from the Wild West to a modern day urban setting is a huge leap of logic for the Call Of Juarez series. I mean, this is the official coj 123456789 forum LOL I thought i had nightmares but i wasn't sleeping at all.Ĭan you remove that link and stop talking about cracking the game.

In fact the keyboard sound was a bless compared with the previous server noises full of crying whistles, mixed to a russian tv show sound passing there and covered by uggly barking echoes. This was just unplayable like that so i joined another server and there was keyboard struming noise coming from an user during the whole session. So maybe i'm getting wrong with the problem i had but when i disabled stereo-mix, my own echo was gone but other users were still blowing my ears with their echo passing through the whole planet lol.
